Gotta Love New Mexico Weather

Saturday we went for a nice walk by the river.
The lengths my dear husband will go to to get me that pretty rock.
Do you see the face here?
There's a cave waaaay up there
Doesn't this look like the Harry Potter Whomping Willow?
What do you suppose these little circles are on this rock high on a cliffside?
I love the cool swooping colors and cuts.  We have the prettiest rocks here.

This little bird clearly does NOT want to be in the Bird Watchers Blog!

And then this morning I got up to this:
Of course, I love snow - so I was delighted!  Wheeee, snow!

So - other than the fact that I am most definately NOT getting a bike ride in today - how am I doing on the various and sundry goals for 2015?

Speaking of workouts - MapMyRide says I got 4 rides in last week for a total of 18.35 miles.  Still short of my goal of 3 - 10 mile rides a week, but it's a work in progress.  It is better than the week before, and it doesn't include our Saturday walk..  I tried a new route on Sunday (which will be on this weeks work outs) which is not very long - but it's murder with several steep uphill gradients.

Bird Watchers Notebook got two posts - not the three I'd like but as you can see from the pic above, the birds are not cooperating.  LOL.  I know, what a crummy excuse.

365 Horses - Yay me, I'm up to 35 and counting.  I did decide that I really don't like turning on the computer at all on Sunday.  I value that day truly off and away from it.  So I did a horse Sunday, but it got posted today. That is how that's gonna be done from now on.

All three of the new sex books published and have one sale each.  I added back matter that had links to my other sex books so I am waiting a couple of weeks to see if that gives me any significant sales bump before I worry about publishing any more or changes to covers and so forth.  Today was my day to write and edit on...something else.  Probably getting the old Bird Watchers Notebook into Kindle form.  The day is quickly getting away from me!  No worries - I'm free most of this week to write/edit/draw/publish and that is pretty much the plan.  Mainly (I hope) finishing up some works that are near complete and getting them published.

I also republished Bloodline.  I took it down because of a cruel and scathing review I received, as well as some other criticisms I thought might be legit. I was going to actually rewrite the damn thing - again. Sunday I started and chucked about four (free) Kindle books and decided that if that crap was acceptable (and reviewed with lots of stars - must be great to be able to buy reviews), so was Bloodline - just exactly the way it is. When it's back up, I'll post it here.

Yep, guess that's it.  Not a bad week.

Late Update

Here I am almost through this week and I haven't posted a goals update for last week!

First and foremost, we got guarded good news from the Drs.  Yes, hubby has a new health issue.  There isn't a whole lot we can do about it other than try to make sure it doesn't get worse.  Then again - we're good at that.  They thought he would be on dialysis by 22, we staved it off until he was 44.  At least we are not facing a year of surgery and who knows what else.  In fact, the surgeon said to keep doing what we're doing.  So that's what we're gonna do!

Given the number of times we had to gallop back and forth to the Drs (140 mile round trip) I'm proud of myself for the weeks results.

MapMyRide says I got 3 workouts in for a total of 12.82 miles.  Less than my goals for this year - but that is a work in progress.

Bird Watchers Notebook posts.  Boo.  Hiss.  Seriously got to step it up on that one.  As I recall, when I didn't have new birds to blog about on the old Notebook, I wrote articles about birds, news, endangered, interesting stuff.  I'll have to work on that.  This week is shaping up a lot better though.

365 Horses - wow am I proud of me.  Still going strong with a horse every day.  Not saying I didn't have some tough days, but I by golly got one up there every day.  I've noticed, oddly enough, that the posts that are articles get more views than the artwork.  I'm always surprised anyone is interested in my drivel!

I'm kicking butt this week!  I finally did covers, front and back matter, and published those three sex stories written last month.  When they are out I'll share the links.  Meanwhile, I lowered the price of Moving On and One Woman + One Kayak = Bliss to 99 cents.  They've been out forever, and I'd rather sell a few at 35% royalties than none at 70%.  Besides, I've read some great 99 cent books lately.  It's good company to be in, never mind what various "how to make money" folks may say.

I finally reached level 100 on FishWorld yesterday!  LOL.  That took considerably longer than planned!  Games do take a back seat to many other things.  I haven't conquered Horse Planet yet either.

Because I did finally get those sex books finished, I'm taking today off to relax.  Well - besides the bike ride and blogging and probably some work at the Mechanical Turk.  My version of a day off - LOL.

Next...I have a book I'm supposed to be formatting & making a cover for a friend.  Then probably tackling the rewrite/format pretty up of the old Bird Watchers Notebook into a Kindle book.  I may also do the same to several of my old websites (now down) that are smaller and will take less time.  Eventually I'll also redo the kids books with the new Kindle Kids Book Creator.  Besides, I want to rewrite them a bit.  I took someone else's advice on them, and now I'm not happy about it.  And I will be working on adding new front and back matter and covers to all the old sex books. Someday I may even learn to use Poser & Anime Studio.

Have a great day

Not bad considering

MapMyRide says I got in four workouts last week totaling 16.5 miles and 2.74 hours.  I'm relatively happy with that given I'm coming back from that hideous flu, and last week was also payday week for the husband.  This means one day was spent running around paying bills, another spent doing grocery and other shopping, and of course, one day doing the clinics thing.  It certainly helps that the weather has warmed up and the sunshine beckons me outdoors all day long!

I only got two entries at the Bird Watchers Notebook which is a little disappointing - I'm shooting for three - but you can't control the birds and although I've been getting bike rides in, they have been happening in the warm afternoon when most birds are snoozing somewhere.  On the other hand, I got a great photo of the Great Blue Heron roosting in a dead tree that I like quite a bit.

To my own surprise - although I do know how determined I can be - I've been managing to keep up with Foovay's 365 Horses.  Again - this was a challenging week time wise but actually the hardest day was yesterday.  You ever have one of those days when everything you touch goes to shit?  The culmination of this one was an abortive bicycle ride where every place I stopped to sit and draw seemed to feature other humans who had decided the beautiful weather meant it was a great day to scream angrily at each other outdoors instead of in their own home.  At the last little pull out, I parked the bike and sat down on the ground - and the bike fell over and hit me in the back.  Ow.

This left me with a major backache, on top of the problem that everything I touched went straight to hell, so when I finally gave up and sat down to try to draw digitally instead of by hand, I quickly became frustrated.  I finally slapped out a freehand cartoon horse that expresses my frustration more than my artistic ability.  I'm thinking today I am going to write a little article for the first time, rather than a drawing.

So all in all - a pretty good week considering the time factors.  Next week will be a real test, with more doctors - but we are also about to get a real answer (we hope) about this new husband health issue that will (we hope) put our minds at ease after several months of ongoing stress.

Suspense is all well and good in books and movies, but not much fun in real life when it involves a high-risk surgery or a possible quick death.  I'm sure we'll find out it's all been yet another big scare courtesy of the medical profession and life will go on.

Interesting Tidbit

I just noticed, looking at my photostream on Flikr that it looks almost like my remaining TBR shelf.  Horses.  Birds.  A daytime moon (new agey stuff), horses, birds, an interesting gate, horses, birds...
